Expectations

• Please read to the agreed page, but not beyond
• Members can opt in and out of individual books
• When you start a book, try to join for all meetings of that book
• If you read faster than others, consider picking up another book so that you do not read ahead

Discussion guidelines

Sharing the conversation

• Don’t talk over people
• 2×2 rule: wait two minutes or until two other people have talked before speaking again
• The 2×2 rule is a suggestion, not a strict requirement

Openness

• Be kind and open-minded to other's ideas and opinions

Privacy

• Respect others’ privacy
• Follow the Chatham House Rule: you may discuss ideas from book club outside the group, but don’t identify who said what or attribute personal stories to individuals
